Another alternative to Teak Leaves : Sealed With String T-Bags. Big 5" x 6"
The leaves of the Teak tree (Tectona grandis) have long been used in the same way as Indian Almond leaves (Terminalia Catappa) by South Asian Bagan plakat breeders/keepers.
The Teak leaves inside our Teak Leaf T-Bags are ground and packed into the tea bags. We offer 2 sizes of Teak T-Bags : Self Sealed 2.4" x 3.3" which weigh 1 gram and contain 2 teaspoons of Teak Leaf, the bigger size is sealed with a drawstring 5" x 4" and weighs 3 grams and contains 4 teaspoons of Teak Leaf. The Teak T-Bags can be placed directly into the tank or put into the filtration system.
Unlike the Indian Almond leaves, Teak leaves do not colour your Aquarium water the same way, the colour is much lighter so they are ideal for Aquarists who want the benefits of Indian Almond Leaves with out the tea stain colour.
After we have gathered the Teak leaves they are stored in our dry room. The Teak Leaves are then gently washed, we then sun dry/ press the Teak leaves, the Teak leaves are then boxed and stored. When we get a order we then un-box the Teak leaves and clean them once again, using a soft brush, making sure there are no signs of dust, small insects/eggs, seeds, soil, mould or moisture. We then ground the Teak leaves and put them in T-Bags. We then bag the Teak Leaf T-bags in clear plastic bags and box them ready for shipping. We use sturdy boxes provided by the thai post office...these boxes cannot be sealed. They have a lip that slots into a flap on the side of the box. String is then tied around the box to stop the box from opening in transit. We state on the box and the package the contents. (eg. Aquatic Goods : 100 Teak Leaf T-bags (" Tectona Grandis "). Customs seem to be happy with this way of posting as all customs have to do is untie the string and check the contents. If ok they retie the string and send the parcel to customer.
