Teak trees (Tectona Grandis) are native to southeast Asia, mainly Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Burma and thus their leaves and bark are widely used by South Asian Tropical Fish breeders and keepers. The coloration of fish is greatly improved and they have very positive effects on strengthen the fishes' scales. They maintain the water PH level and serve as a natural antibiotic. They also dry up the fat on most fish, resulting in more muscle making your fish more athletic and agile.

The bark of the Teak tree (Tectona Grandis ) has long been used in the same way as Indian Almond Leaves and Indian Almond Bark (Terminalia Catappa), remedies include:

bite injuries
fungal diseases
hardening of scales
fin rot
color enhancement
burns off fat

Unlike the Indian Almond leaves and bark, Teak Bark does not color your Aquarium water the same way, the color is much lighter, so they are ideal for Aquarists who want the benefits of Indian Almond Leaves and indian Almond Bark without the tea stain color.

Aquarists also use Teak bark to mimic the natural conditions of their fish in their aquaria. Simply adding Teak Bark to your aquarium will release compounds by the bark which alter the chemistry of the water, making the aquarium more similar to habitat from which the fish hails. Due to their size they are ideal as leaf litter in vivarium's.

Occasionally, the Teak trees where we gather the Teak Bark from, the people who own the land for whatever reason cut the trees down. When this happens, we usually go and strip the Teak Bark from the trunk and branches of the felled trees before they are finally taking away to be mulched. The gathered Teak Bark is then stored in boxes in our dry shed.
All our gathered Teak Bark is stored in boxes in our dry shed and once we get an order, the Teak Bark is then wire brushed using a stiff wire brush, the Teak Bark is then brushed with a soft wire brush and then finally washed and brushed with a 2" paint brush and then put in the sun to dry.
